He is adorable! Sadly, people are mixing breeds now more than ever before, so it's almost impossible to guess in so many cases because mixed breeds are also bred.
It's hard to know by looking at the photo not knowing how old he is so we can take a stab at how large he is. If he is only about 8 weeks old, I'd say he has some Golden in him.
Regardless, love him, start him in a puppy class by 12 weeks and have him neutered so you know you are doing a good thing to help pet over population.

DNA technology now allows you to test your dog and determine what his genetic makeup is. The test is done by scraping the inside of his mouth with a soft little brush. You send in the sample and soon you get a response with your baby's results. I found this product in the "In the Company of Dogs" catalog. (They have lots of really cute dog items by the way). I wanted to order the test, but they were backordered, so I just googled the manufacturer and found this: You can order from them directly:

I have two rescues aged 9 and 10 that I have had since they were teeny little puppies and it has been fun over the years - trying to 'guess' what they are. In the end, it doesn't really matter where they came from - they are funny and affectionate and crazy and MINE.
If your dog has a tendency towards health problems, then you may want to get a dog book and read up on various breeds and health problems associated with that breed.
Good luck!

Hard to say just by looking at a picture, but he/she resembles a Long-haired Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. I'd put my money on a Pomeranian mixed with a short or smooth-coated small terrier.

I don' t think it' s a chichuahua, because they have pointed ears, and it' s not a cocker spaniel also, they have really long ears, what I think it is is a Golden Retriever, despite their size and pomeranian mix, because your dog' s hair resembles that of a Goldie, which I think is different from America Cocker Spaniel' s.

age of this dog? Looks adult to me
Set of eyes & shape of nose look more like a small spaniel (see Tibetan Spaniel or Cavalier as an example)
or Japanese Spitz or perhaps patterdale terrier
-- out of those.. I am gonna go with Tibetan Spaniel ---
the body build looks very much like Malti-Poo or Norfolk Terrier... -- out of those I go Norfolk Terrier
I think small spaniel mixed with small terrier
Tibetan plus Norfolk

I'm almost 99% certain that it is a chow and a pomeranian mix. They both have the fluffy hair that you dog has.. and your dog looks exactly like both of them.
