Watch for signs of infection (redness, pus, etc) but just don't play with it...keep it clean - use the sea salts a couple times a day (hopefully they gave you some at the time you had it done, if not, get some) and rinse it well with it. It will heal soon...mine took almost a week to not be really sore.

You do what you have to do to alleviate the pain Dear. As long as you don't have an infection I wouldn't worry.

As for these piercing, especially in the nose IE: you carry, like everyone else, a staphylococcus bacteria in the nasal passages, your always told not to pick your nose, not to pinch pimples etc, this was for your own good, not to consider the possibilities of creating a large storehouse of these stap germs starting them on the way to a huge population increase and, infection. Now you go out there and have your nose pierced, go to the nearest ER and see how many young people come in with infections in the faces due to these piercings, in their tongues, noses, eyebrows, etc.
I've seen some girls with their tongues sticking out, they're so swollen they cannot pull their tongues back in their mouths. They can't eat or swallow.

Now here you are with pains, well if you think it's worth it, then keep it clean and wash it out all the time, use an antiseptic to keep it clean, this is actually one of the nastiest spots on the body for germs.
