What is the problem when one sub woofer is playing and the other one comes in when it wants to.?

Loose speaker wire.

I wanna say the speakers got a short in the wire somewhere or it's hooked up backwards. Or that channel on your amplifier is bad try plugging the "bad" subwoofer into the other channel and see if it still does it. Best of luck

that covers it.
one for a short, one for an open.
time to do some troubleshooting to figure if it is the speaker or just a wire.

'course it could be worse, like the amp could be the problem.
but substitution will quickly tell you where it is.
