Just wondering if I 'm being too harsh...
You see I got a family member who is showing signs of jealousy towards me. I refuse to put up with this. I've have decided to not deal with this person and leave them out of my life. This person has shown some signs in the past and I tried to ignore it.
Is this too extreme?

Avoiding negativity- doesn't solve the problem. If you can't handle it- fine; better to avoid them than be in a constant state of conflict about them. But if you decide to hold your ground & deal with them as just another one of those "realities of life", - then you have to decide to be FIRM with them, & NOT let their foolishness get under your skin. It's NOT easy to do. But it DOES build character. And character is a pretty good prerequisite to have- in a World that usually couldn't care less.

No your not. I recently went through the same thing with my friend of the last 7 years. This jealous, insecure aquaintance does not have your best interests in mind. Stay very far away.

There is nothing wrong with not talking to them...Don't let anyone bring you down, even if it is a family member...they are probably just jealous because you are doing something for your life and are doing better than them...let them be a hater just don't stoop down to their level and continue with your positive attitude on life and continue to succeed...

no it is not. simply put it as you just have few words to say to them. and simply do not feel an urge to associate with them.

why should you be around a person who gives you negative energy? its stupid. save your happiness by simply being away from the person.

hope all goes well*

It's absolutely not too extreme. This person is, I'm assuming, an adult, and being that they're an adult, it's their responsibility to act properly. It isn't required of you to remind them how they should be acting. And it certainly isn't required of you to mention it more than once. Slowly cut your ties and measure this person's loyalty to you.

How do you deal with them? - Don't deal with them, let them stew in their own jealousy juices.....
