There are two ways to straighten your hair, although a combination of both helps depending on the type of hair you have (mine is extremely thin, so it's highly susceptible to becoming wavy with the slightest amount of moisture).

Product -- after you wash your hair, apply a hair straightening gel (while wet) and blow it dry. This will help straighten your hair out a bit. I currently use one of the straighteners from Bed Head, which is available at any salon. It works pretty well, although I'd like to try something from Pureology.

Flatiron -- use a good flatiron to straighten your hair after you blow it dry. Cheap ones will only damage your hair, so make sure you get one that is 1) ceramic, and 2) over $100. I am currently using the Chi straightener, and it is really good. My stylist recommends the Paul Brown one, but says that the Chi is on par with it. A good straightener should last you for quite some time, so it's a worthwhile investment. Buy from your stylist, as they will typically cover warranties better than your average Target, etc. Online works as well.

Note: a cheap flatiron will only result in fried and dead hair over time.

Hope this helps!

I just got a new one at Wal-Mart today. It works great! Your hair gets soo straight from using it. It was only $24.00. If you go just look for a straightener that says wet to straight. Yep thats right, you can straighten it when its wet too!
