I would like to switch the contents of two selected cells in the same workbook

i.e.:

NAME
-------
Brian < --- CTRL-selected
Jack
Helga < --- CTRL-selected
Marie

Then switch the contents of the 2 cells without cutting & pasting to look as follows:

NAME
-------
Helga
Jack
Brian
Marie

can this be done?

Not to my knowledge unless Excel 2007 has this feature.

All other solutions to do this require VisualBasic.

Sounds like a pretty neat idea for a new feature of Excel. Why not submit it to Microsoft.
