Okay...I'm desperate...and I'm not active AT ALL. i swear....i'm lazy. i'm 13...now, usually if i excercise for an hour a day, im not active anymore throughout the day...i barely move. but i have found that i get very bored in the day, so i start eating junk food...but if i have excercise to occupy my time, i dotn get so bored, and i dont eat junk food. and i have all the time in the world...i'm free all day. i'm on a low carb diet for 2 weeks...but I'm gonna be excercising. i will be strength training, and doing cardio i will do cardio about 2-3 hours, sometimes 4. my cardio might be aerobics, or other cardio.. and do strength training about 3 more hours. i am able to do this, as i have found that doing from the TV, i have more fun, and dont get bored, like i used to when i would walk on my treadmill with music. how do i prevent myself from burning muscle when excercising all day? and is it okay to excercise like this?

you guys....im not gonna keep doing this forever...only for 2 weeks. over a month, i had been trying to lose 10 lbs...and now ive slacked off so much that there is only 2 weeks left. now i know of people who are on TV, and they lose a bunch of weight healthily every week...and people on here say they lose it real quick because they excercise all day. so why can't i excercise all day?

It's actually really unhealthy to excersice all day long. Anything to that extreme is not healthy, especially at your age. An hour or two a day is perfectly fine. If you want to get away from the TV then try reading, or take up a hobby. I myself make jewelry and also have been working on writing a French and English children's book. Go outside and play basket-ball with a few friends, or have a squirt gun/water fight with some friends. That's what I did at thirteenduring the summer. Ride your bike to the local library(If it's not too far and you have your parents' permission first)and see if there are any reading programs you can join. Find a place where you can volunteer, such as Hospice or maybe a soup kitchen for a couple hours a day. Go to the local pool and swim and tan(As long as you can swim that is.) There are plenty of things you can do to get away from the TV and still excercise in moderation.
As far as food goes...eat more veggies and drink lots of water, teas and juices. Get all the junk food out of your house and don't buy anymore. Buy healthy foods instead. But there are ways, such as finding things to do away from the TV which you can do and still loose weight without constant excersise.
If you excersise all day you'll be depriving your body of needed rest, and needed nutrients...nowdays it's called "Excersise bulimia."(Sorry if it's spelled wrong.)But it's basically the same as having an eating disorder. It's actually very much like crash dieting.
It is especially unhealthy because your body will become used to the constant exercise and you may actually end up gaining a lot of wight after you start school, because then your body will be taking in all the nutrients it has missed out on and that's not good for someone your age or anyone at any age.

Yes, it's fine to exercise 6-7 hours per day. That is, if you're a personal trainer and your body is conditioned for it. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you intake, but if you're dieting and also exercising for 6-7 hours a day you're burning way more calories than what is healthy. I don't care if you're only going to be on it for 2 weeks, its a counter-productive plan. If you plan to actually stick to what you're saying then yes, you'll lose weight. But unless you plan to make a LIFESTYLE change, it will come right back. Period. What you're describing will put your body into starvation mode. As a result, when you go back to doing exactly the same old thing in a couple of weeks, it will all come back and then some.

I've followed your posts. They say nothing about a lifestyle change. Moreover, your body is NOT fully developed at 13, regardless of your bra size.

Here's my harsh reality check suggestion for you. Quit posting these questions on Y!A and put your plan into motion. Don't expect to lose 20 pounds before school starts. If you do, don't jump into another crash diet. Find a reasonable, well rounded diet that you can do all the time, not just 2 weeks per year. Get active. It doesn't matter if you're just folding laundry, you're still burning more calories than when you're sitting in front of the TV or computer.

Become accountable for your actions. The people here can give you suggestions, but it seems to me that every suggestion you've gotten over the past 3 weeks has gone untouched. We can't lose your weight for you, you need to do it yourself. Just be safe about it.

It is ok. But do a good diet too. Not too long, 60 minutes moderate excercise is enough for 3 - 5 times a week. Mild excercise, remember: less than 400 calories burnt in 60 - 75 minutes.

wait..all day long? did you seriously said all day long?! i was desperate last year too, but all day long is way too much hun, you are 13 years old, you are at the stage of puberty, your body is developing, and if you are cutting back on the nutrient filled foods, these might have some impact of you in terms of having a regular menstruation and development of your mamary glands, my cousin is the same thing as you when she was like 13 too, she went on a diet for a couple of months and started exercising...A LOT! sadly, her breast didnt developed quite well, shes a 32A only..

just cut back on the junk food marathon, the low carb diet is good for you this time of the year becoz its the summer time and you do not need the extra energy.

The problem to this "all-at-once" approach is that you can't keep it up. You have the best of intentions, but it gets to be a drag. Instead, try getting out of the house and doing some things with other people. Maybe you can go on hikes on the weekend and meet new people? You do need to do something, but I bet you drop this huge program within three weeks.

kinda, don't excercise to much, you need to give your heart and muscles a rest. don't over do it, you may pass out. just cut it down to 2-3 hours every day and make sure to drink lots of water

You are too young to remember this. There was a time in the past when people exercised all day. It was called working.

If your trying at all on your exercises and not just messing around there's no way you could exercise 3 hours + if your not in great shape.

it's bad if you exercise too much.Your muscles need resting otherwise you get a strain .And you need to do some body relaxing-lying on the ground or simply have a walk

Ever heard of burning yourself out?

Plus, your body only progresses and makes changes when your recovering and at rest.
