OK, so, I've just colored my hair what should've been a med-bright red. I naturally have a med/dk brown color w/ a few randomly places reddish and goldinsh highlights(during the summer). I know it's a good idea to bleach before applying red to a dark natural color, but I wasn't yet sure about the color, so I only lightened it a few shades first(a while ago). Well, aside from that, I pretty much have virgin hair, I'm black, so my hair is naturally curly (if that changes resistance to color) I can see a little red in it, but overall, my hair didn't take the color (and I left it in far past the recommended time). How long do I need to wait B4 trying it again? and what should I do differently this time?

You can do it tomorrow if you want ( if your hair is in good condition). I would recommend getting a deep cond. for afterwards that has protein in it to streghten your hair. Good Luck!
