(I know this wouldn't happen, but let's pretend, ok?)

Please state your religion and the one you would pick and why. Also, please try to pick something that's not incredibly similar to your own (as in, if you're Jewish, try to think outside the box and not pick another Abrahamic religion).

I'm a Wiccan and I would pick Buddhism because it teaches awareness of the self and teaches the importance of your actions.

fifimsp3: Atheists can pick anything :)

I was just trying to get people to think outside of the box and say something nice about another religion for a change.

I'm sorry if I offended. I really didn't mean to.

If there were no such thing as Christianity, it would have to be atheism -- the only one based on common sense and logic.

(AS an atheist, though, I'd really be bugged by wondering just HOW our complex universe and all its physical laws that work so well together could have just "happened" WITHOUT a God...)

A good question... I would.. probably not pick any thing and go Atheist. Originally I was going to say Druidism, because I am Wicca and they are a bit similar... and then I remembered what you said.

Then I was also going to say Buddhism... but that would not work for me. Nothing that has to do with the Bible, Koran(spelling?), Torah, or any thing along those lines. Most certainly not. The only thing other than Wicca would be Druidism.. but they are fairly similar.

I'm Catholic and I would never change my religion.... Almost every Catholic would say the same...Here's a true story that happened recetly...

About 2 months ago, in Iraq, Catholics had just left church saying their prayers to God in a mass. When the mass was over, the priest and two deacons were driving home in one car when they were stopped by two shiites. They were told to come out of the car with a gun at heir head. The two shiites told them to convert to Islam or they will be shot in the head. The priest and the two deacons said they will stay Catholics and will never convert and they were shot in the head and left on the ground dead because their family members were not allowed to come near them until the two shiite men left or they would also be killed. Now these martyers will forever rest in peace with God.

This shows how hard it is to answer such a question to Catholics.

I would pick Hinduism because it is a very inclusive religion, they believe in dharma (duty) if you are following your dharma (let's say your catholic and you're being a good catholic then that makes you a good hindu, i know kinda weird to explain but i find that open mindness fascinating.

I would also pick Buddhism, my grandma was a buddhist i love the idea of letting material things go in order to be happy and being one with nature is wonderful.

I can't decide...

I'm catholic

Wait, you said we get to pick, then tell us we can't pick one if it's too close? Screw that.

I'm Atheist and I pick Taoism. I don't have to worship a deity and it's the only religion I have ever felt like what I've read of the book that is left as the instruction manual makes any sense whatsoever. Very beautiful language.

Catholic. Buddhism as well. because it kicks butt, and is just as persecuted. Weird reason, I know. Although I did meet this dance instructor once from Punjab, and she really had a beautiful aura about her, and she preached about joy. Shiva is joy. So everything in the dance, her entire aspect including her facial expressions were one of joy. She was a very beautiful outstanding woman. I would have been her disciple in a minute if I would have had the freedom to do so, and if I weren't so shy.

I am a Christian (Baptist) and if I were to chose another religion I would be American Indian because I always liked their stories and the way some of them resisted being turned into slaves. Of course I believe that Christianity is the only true path to God.

I'm a Christian, and since I'm not allowed in your scenario to be a Muslim or a Jew...

Probably a Taoist. There is little to nothing in Taoism that directly conflicts with my beliefs (other than Pantheism, which doesn't make sense to me logically) and I respect and appreciate the attitude that the religion takes toward life.
