Seriously, being a correction officer, like being a prison guard already involve police
tasks and vocations. You police criminals
for a living and you get to develop instincts
that can save your life.
You'll find that being a police officer is the next step up from what you already do and are trained at.
So, being a C.O. would look remarkable on your resume. Just remember not to go in with that, " I'm a C.O. " type attitude.
Lots of luck.

Yes, it probably will. Especially if you get a good review when they call your bosses. You have already had some very similar academy training. Our department had a couple guys that were CO's before coming on.

It will be fine on the application and/or resume but testing will still be done the same for everyone. probably help alot in the interview phase too.

Good luck.

If you want to be a police officer....you should do whatever it takes to get into your local academy. Of course, if there is no current opportunity to enroll in that course...it can't hurt to have C.O. on your resume!!!! Best of luck to you...if the police officer is what you want to be.....go for it and leave out the middle man.
