High school is the most un-scary thing I think I've ever done.
There really is no reason to worry. Rumors that you'll hear about the Seniors picking on freshmen isn't really true. High school is so much fun... I heard a quote the other day that is just about perfect for it... "Highschool: You'll laugh when they say you'll miss it and you'll cry when they say you have to go." I am going to be a junior this year and I love high school.
A tip is definatly find a balance between work and play. You want to work hard to get to college but you don't want to devote all of your time to classwork and miss out on all the fun stuff! I hope you have a great year and you will quickly realize you were silly to be afraid.
Email me if you have any questions!
Best of Luck!

Don't be scared although it may be a natural feeling right now. There's nothing to worry about. Think of it as a new start and a time to make new friends and meet new people. You'll have a blast. You'll think back and wonder why you even worried. Remember to join sports if you're an athlete or drama/dance/music/choir etc etc. Joining activities makes the high school experience more worth it and fun. Oh and those movies about high schools? Highly exaggerated at times.

If I had to choose my best time during high school, it would definitely be my freshman year hands down. PLUS all those upperclassmen!! Who wouldn't love 'em :)

I am going to be a Junior this year and let me tell you high school is a piece of cake. My freshman year was the best year of my life so far and i guarantee it will be yours also so take advantage of it and don't waist it away. My sophomore year was good but nothing compared to my freshman. Just have fun but not too much and keep your grades up because if your grades are bad then things may get a little stressful but no high school is not scary it a blast and you should live it up and soak it in. Good luck!

the first week or so is kinda over whelming. You might get lost or feel small. But after 2 weeks its like you are right back in middle school with all your friends, but just more people around. You will also start hanging out with some different people. I know all my friends i had in middle school were totally different than my friends i have in high school. And i know everyone says this but its sooo true, high school goes by so fast. It feels like yesterday i was lost as a freshman and now im a senior, its crazy lol. But no high school is fun.

Okay, I was a freshmen this year and... I was scared at first. So the first couple of weeks people are rude and say rude comments like stupid freshmen and stuff like that, but if you learn to ignore it then after a month its like any other school. For the most part people are really nice. The school work isn't too much harder and the teachers are a little ruffer, like they don't come to you, you have to go to them. But other than that...It really isn't that bad, and I really love being in High School, after you get use to it you will like it a lot more than Junior High! Good Luck! I am going to be a sophmore at a new school and I am really nervous, but I know it will be fine!
:)

No, public school etachers lie. There is virtually barely any homework. But the teachers are usually *** holes, and registration and stuff like that can get really confusing. But its not scary dont worry about it.

Highschool is a metaphorical jungle...

Its surivival of the fittest. In Highschool, you will have to develope the proper social skill to handle the your basic highschool personality types less you become the smelly kid in the corner whom NOBODY want to talk to.

I am NOT saying that you should try to be friends with everybody, because you will find yourself sacrificing your ideals such as honesty, honour and morality in trying to please everyone. Try stick with your current friends and find new ones that have the same interests as you but DONT hang out with losers (definition of loser being those who dont have honour, morality and the drive to succeed in life). Try to be the neutral kid, whom everyone gets along with. Try not be a stereotype (cheerleader, jock, nerd etc.)

Yes highschool is scary, but FACE IT with all your heart and make the most of it. Learn all you can, make connections, socialize yourself properly but most of all, be yourself and realize this is but a step in your life and YOUR ARE in charge of your destiny.

Not really. It can be scary, because you have more freedom and are more responsible for yourself, but apart from that, it's fine.

And just because you're the new kids doesn't mean you'll get picked on. Older kids would sooner ignore you than pick on you.

I am also going to be a freshman and i have heard some stories that we'll get picked on and that theyll call us fresh meat but i dnt really believe. i guess if we just stay out of the peoples way they wont get mad us and be mean to us.But it is fair. and the upper classmen are freshman and they had it happen to them and we will mos tlikely do it to freshman when we are older.
