Yes and Yes; if the FoolishTheists (are there any other kind? LOL) didn't have this little something to focus on they'd be thinking about reality and the world would be so much more messier than it is now.
You must consider this armed with the knowledge they're not real bright - can we really have another coupla billion unfocused fools charging about the planet?
The other obvious benefit to Atheists is that whilst them there God-bothering, InvisibleSkyPixie-worshiping, mentally-enslaved fools are doing what they do, they allow the rest of us to get the types of jobs we want with less effort that it may otherwise have taken.
Mmm. On thinking that logic through, they are in fact retarding us all from meeting our potential.
Now I'm confused - obviously it DOES hold us all back when most of our fellow countrymen just tune into the InvisibleSkyPixie's saying: You'd better suck up to ME or I'll send you to hell.
I wonder how many otherwise good minds are being wasted in the pursuance of Afterlife'sHeaven.

No focusing on the afterlife all the time would become selfish when there areso many things that need our focus here on earth but when you get overwhelmed taking a break to dream of heaven and being with God can be motivational and calming

It's hard to do God's work here on earth if I'm always preoccupied with the afterlife. I know it's coming, and I know that I'll have eternity there when I get there, so for now I got plenty of things that I need to get done here.

I live my life focus on Christ....The one I strive to be more like everyday. This world makes it so hard. With all it evil influences and garbage. I do think often of the day Jesus comes back. What a great day that will be:) With that there are going to be alot of sad people who should have thought twice about things......

Heavens no! We try to keep our focus on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, Who lived a sinless life, yet died a sinner's death for your sins and ours! ". . . God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." I Timothy 3(b),4(NIV)
In this Twenty-first Century, it's not as easy to do as in times past; which is why we attend church services, read our Bibles, pray and witness to others, by word and deed. But, no, our focus is on serving Christ in hopes of bringing whosoever will into the Kingdom of Christ by sharing His Gospel (AKA: Good News)!
We pray for you and encourage you to give Jesus a try, too!

No. Don't think about it much. I'm just taking life as it comes and trying to stay in God's will in the here and now.

To serve Jesus, by serving others in His Name. I strive know Him more each day. Overall goal is to see Him when I am called home. BUT I do not do that by works.

Actually I rarely think of it. (expression of amazement)
I guess I focus primarily on being the best "ME" I can be..... I focus my life on investing in as many people of possible.
Thanks for asking...I like to examine myself....you made me think!
Edit: I do realize that I didn't mention my focus on Christ. Actually, He isn't my focus...He is such a part of me that I don't need to focus...He is what I breathe.
