I got an industrial piercing done 2 days ago, and was wondering if anyone who had gotten theirs done that the barbell balls were directly on the skin, and after a few days swelling went down and there was room between the skin and ball, because I heard that keliods form from too tight barbells, and getting a keliod is a huge fear of mine.

Okay, you can get a keliod from any problem but are more likely too from an infection that stays within and goes solid. My industrial had to be fit below and existing cartilage piercing so the balls are right on my skin, nothing went wrong. After about a week the swelling should be almost entirely gone and how it will sit is going to show. A good professional piercer wouldn't put in a bar that's too short, they just wouldn't. The whole process takes longer because they have to get both ends lined up perfectly so that the bar will sit right and not rub on either side. Don't freak out about something you heard, it's not that big of a deal anyway because you can heal keliods if you catch them in time. Just keep it clean, don't play with it all the time and really only touch it to clean it. Be sure to wash your hands before you touch it, bacteria spreads easily. If you have any questions, call your piercer, it's part of their job to help when it was their work. Seriously, call them or go in with concerns.

Umm I dont have an industrial...yet... but I think if the Ends are touching the skin that much you should just do regualr cleaning and not worry about keloids!!
I knwo this doesnt have to do wiht the question but want the same peircing and How old do you have to be to get it? Did it hurt?

mine didn't swell up but i have had it done for 3 years...i have a lil mark in my ear where the bar runs from piercing to piercing and as for where the balls are i don't have a mark at all...if you think you will get it call the piercer and see if you can get a longer bar
i love my industrail wait till ppl start askin why in the hell you got that only cuz its so big lol

if you had this done by a professional there should be no problems at all, just follow the directions they gave you on cleaning it ,swelling should be gone in 7-10 days

Isnt that the one that goes through the cartilage twice? I alwasy get a keliod when i get my ears peirced with just a regular stud but when i clean them and they heal they go away. Idk anythin about that kind of peircing but you'll be fine.

Man I want that done sooooo bad. As soon as I turn 18 im gettin it done.
I heard it was the piercing that hurt the most but when I got my cartiladge done it didnt hurt at all. So yeah I wanna get it done.
