You need to take the cat,or a sample of it's stool ,to the vet so they can tell you what kind of worms they are.Everyone is saying to go get some worm medicine at the pet store, but most general wormers are only good for roundworms and hookworms, but not tapeworms, which is probably what they are.Do they look like rice? If they do,then they are tapeworms, and you need to get pills from your vet for them, and they will need to know how much your cat weighs. If they are long, like spaghetti, then your cat has a very bad case of roundworms,Either way,it's best to call a vet.

maxmom is spot on. Take the cat, and a fecal specimen to the vet. Depending on what type of parasite the cat has, the treatment is different. The vet can dispense safe and effective meds to clear up the problem. Over the counter dewormers usually only take care of one or two types of worms and can have negative side effects.

TSC sells the best wormer for cats and dogs, vet quality. Sounds like tapeworms to me. Get the tapeworm wormer they sell, Tradewinds brand, then also get the other wormer they sell for roundworms and hook worms. I'd quarantine that cat to itsself until you get this under control because people can catch these tapeworms and toxis leaona is deadly to infants, small children and even pregnant women. If they're crawling out it's butt, they are tapeworms. If you notice them in it's stool and they look like spaghetti, those are roundworms, hook worms are almost invisible to the naked eye. DON'T buy wormer from Walmart!!!!!! Either TSC or a vet!!!!

Take it to the vet, and have it treated for tapeworms. Also, have it treated for the fleas it has that gave it tapeworms so they don't come back.
Small white rice-sized worm: tapeworm
Long beige spaghetti noodle-like worm: roundworm
More likely to see tapeworms actually coming out of the butt.
Roundworms can sometimes be seen in vomit too.

These worms are called tapeworms. I've had personal experience, and they can be very yucky. Take you cat to the vet and make sure he or she is given a "de-worming" medication. Tape worms live in the intestine of your cat and feed off the nutrients there so it can make him weak and deficient in vitamins.

it's most likely caused by fleas. My cat Ceaser had them too I first noticed them on his pillow, they look like rice grains then when I was bathing him I saw them coming out of his butt...ewww. They vet said that when they lick their fur they swallow fleas and flea egg which then hatch in their system and end up coming out of their butts, so you should get your cat some medicine from the vet to kill the larve, after that just make sure you bathe your cat and use the advantage plus or frontline to keep fleas of him. Good luck!

you could try some kind of over the counter worm medicine, but I would definitely recommend taking your cat to the vet immediately. worms can be a really serious health risk.

SureShot Liquid dewormer works wonderfully! Its what I've always used, and its taken care of even the worst infestations for me. Just pour a tsp into the cats food (and it tastes good to them too) and change the litter that day (making sure you clean the litterbox with soap and water). Simple.

You will need to take it to the vet for worm medicine.
I would not buy the over the counter wormer because they can cause problems if it is too strong or not strong enough.

There is medicine for this. I think you can get it at petsmart or something but if not go to the vet.
My dog had worms to. The hard part is getting them to eat the pills.
