when most of the tooth looks decayed! Just go to the dentist and have them check it out! Let them decide what needs to be done! Regardless if it's too late or not...if you can see yourself that you have a cavity, you need to make a dental app. ASAP! Good Luck!

When so much of the tooth structure is gone that it needs to be a crown instead because the cavity won't hold.

When it gets to live tissue and destroys nerve. Then the tooth needs a root canal.

i don't believe it's ever too late but if you are worried about it then you should really go see a dentist. they can give you the best advice! good luck with your tooth and wat not!
