I'm 19 years old and I still live with my parents. I have 1 older brother and he's 22 and he also lives with my parents. I feel like he does nothing to help around the house and I feel like my parents put all the pressure on me. I get in trouble if I do something wrong, but if my brother does it, they don't say anything. They always depend on me to do stuff like clean the house, run errands, etc. My brother goes out with his friends everyday, comes home late and just sits on his butt during the day. He has a job but hardly works and I get so disgusted by him in general. Why are my parents always on my back but they're not like that for my brother?

Maybe they think they can't get him to behave, but they can get you to help around the house. I've seen this before. The bad one, they don't even try to influence, because it's too much work. The decent one, they expect to take over. Running the household is too hard for the parents, so they let the most responsible child do it.
You have to evaluate the situation for yourself. Are the advantages of living with your parents worth the hassle? Can you place some reasonable limits on their demands without getting them too crazy? If so, it may be worth your while to stay. Are you going to college or saving up for it? It may be worth your while. Otherwise, you might consider moving out on your own. This doesn't mean you don't love your family; it just means you are taking responsibility for yourself.

It is time for you to grow up. You are 19. Either you should be in college or working. Find a girl to share an apartment with and get out. It isn't healthy for you to stay home after you are out of high school. Your brother sounds like a loser. Your parents are enabling him to be just a bum. Get out of there before you end up the same. Good luck.

Because in your and many other cultures guys are gods. You have the opportunity to change your life and the life of your future daughters. Get an education and get out of the house. If you are in the US, then take advantage of the freedom that a female citizen has and become one if you are not. If you are, then libertate yourself, there is no reason to be a slave here.

I take it you are dissatisfied, with ''being a slave".
Well, you are the only one who can change that...and
you could go get a ''job'' that pays...there is always a
"live-in job" takiing care of elderly, or children, and you
might as well get one which pays you...instead of you
having to feel the way you do now.
Perhaps it's time you "spread your wings" and did
something ''for yourself" for a change...
I wish you the best in whatever decision you make.
Sincerely, Too Funny

why don't you talk to them? talk to your parents on how you should also get some privileges. Don't do some things and lets see how they feel about that! sometimes you just have to rebel a lil bit in order to gain something you know what i mean!
