I'm thinking of trying this out next week to try and lose 8 pounds before Sept 6th.

I used an online food diary to calculate the percentages of fat/carbs and protein I think I need.

I'm 27 years old. 128 lbs and do 35 mins cardio, 5 days a week w/ 2-3 days weights.

Breakfast:
3/4 oatmeal w/ 3/4 cup blueberries

Lunch:
Low sodium minestrone soup

Dinner:
Trader Joe's shrimp stir fry w/ a 1/2 cup brown rice

Snacks:
1-2 cups peach or melon and sugar free hot chocolate or popsicle for dessert.

You will lose weight but only because you are gona be depriving your body which makes you lose water weight and muscle and slow down metabolism. As soon as you start eating normal (you are not gona be able to stick to this for every day of your life - which a diet that works has to be like) you will gain all back if not more.
To lose fat you have to create just a slight deficit in daily caloric intake.
Plus you have to eat every 2-3 hours (5-6 small meals a day) for your body to get energy when it needs it and not have any extra left to store in fat reserves.
And more cardio -the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat. 45min 4-6 days a week is desireable amount.
