when filling out a W2; if i am going try to get the most out of my monthly check do i claim my spouse and son?

i am trying to get the most out of my monthly check so if i put down 0 do i get more money , or do i put down 3 (Wife, Son, me) to get more money. which one will give me more money on a monthly check.

You want to put down 3,that will get you more than claiming zero.You also can enter as married which gives you more.You can claim as many as you want but at tax time you have to claim correctly.The more you claim the more you get in your pay.However,you possibly may pay tax to the goverment if you claim too many and you are under taxed.Claiming 3 should be fine though.

It's a W-4. But if you put 3 you'll get more money each paycheck than if you put zero. Ad if your son is under 17 so you get the child tax credit for him, you'll probably still get a refund. If you are eligible for the credit, you could safely claim another allowance or two - see the worksheets for the W-4.

If your wife also works, then you shouldn't both claim an allowance for her though.

Zero will hold the max withholdings. If you want more money in your check, claim 3 dependents (including yourself.) Hope this helps.
