my brother uses proactive and its for REALLY bad acne... but it's also based on your skin type. like if the dr. says that u have really oily skin, then yeah, try proactive. but if you have already dry skin then definatly stay away from proactive. it will make ur skin peel like a... fruit? haha but still if the dr. says that u shouldn't use it u should follow the perscription stuff...

ProActive does work... but I recommend this.

If you suffer from extreme acne... OXY sells a great set of products [choose "SEVERE" OXY for fast face cleanup].

The reason you should do this is that many people's face and skin become "immune" to the effects of a certain acne brand or product.

This is why people view amazing results for a week or two and then gets worse all of a sudden.

Your best bet is to buy OXY alongside with ProActive. Use one until its effects seem to be wearing off-- then switch to the other. Going back and forth with the products seems to work wonderfully. Don't mix brands though because often time they have symbiosis that might be disrupted with the introduction of another brand of product.

Coming from a person who was tortured with acne-- ProActive is worth it... but not unless you buy another acne brand to go along with.

Or also try, in place of ProActive, switching between OXY and CLEARASIL set.
[basic set= astringent pads, face wash, and face cream].

It worked for me, but it took like three months to really start working and it got worse before it got better. My skin has never been too bad, but I wanted something that would keep my skin looking good all the time and Proactiv basically does. I would also recommend trying some of their other products too. My skin is really oily so I use their Daily Oil Control and that keeps my skin matte. The only downfall is the price.

My friend has bad acne too. She uses proActive. I asked her if the stuff really works and she said it does if you use it consistently. For example, if you forget to use it one day, you break out in acne. But as long as you keep using it, it controlls the pimples. But of course, everybody's skin is different. It may not be like that for you.

yes it does. when i met my girlfriend she had real bad acne and she was 26 years old. so i decided to buy it for her and she is as beautiful as i thought she was. cause when i met her she had acne for about 2 years and i fell in love with her, not here acne problem and when she started using it within 3 months she cleared up so much and i couldn't believe my eyes and 10 years later she uses it less and less and she is still as beautiful as the day i met here. but remember you have to give it at least a month and a half to 3 months and you won't be sorry. good luck, think positive, smile alot ,laugh as much and life will be good to you

My sister has bad acne, and has spent plenty of money on proactive which has done little to help her skin. In my opinion the benefits are not worth the money being spent on proactive....

proactive never really worked for me.
for the past year i have been taking antibiotics for my acne and using 10% benzoyl peroxide cream on blemishes and it has really cleared up! i highly recommend it! and dont forget to moisturize with an oil free moisturizer!

yea it works, i have seen it. but i personally get really bad acne and i use clearasil ultra and it works within 2 days. u can easily tell the results, plus clearasil only is $6 and it is sold in stores so no shipping costs, whereas proavtive is 20 and there is shipping costs.

To be honest, your doctor just said that so he can sell the medication to you, and he'd get money off it.

Proactiv is goddess. I love it. My skin is flawless, clear, and clean! I love it. I had acne and now you cant even know I used to have... any!!
