However, COW is so sacred to Hindus. The cow stands for prosperity—as does Laksmī, goddess of wealth. Cows are the producer of the milk and the clarified butter, the offerings traditionally placed on the sacrificial fire. To destroy a cow would be to defy the cosmic order and to deny the need for the gifts of rain, plants, and animals that sacrifice brings to earth. The cow is distinctly of the world, as she is associated with earth, and it is by her that the essential offerings are given-

cows are considered sacred in Hinduism. im not sure if that is true or not though and i wouldnt call it ignorant and disgusting if it was all religions have their own rituals. Hinduism is a very peaceful and awesome religion :]
