I disagree heartily. You need carbohydrates for energy. Cutting out your carbs will make you weak and tired throughout the day. Consider consuming more complex carbohydrates (anything that doesn't say "sugars" on the nutrition label, I.E. "other carbohydrates" or "dietary fiber") than simple carbs (sugars).

Hope this helps a bit.

I like low carb, with lots of veggies.

Details such as meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

For some people like me it's a great way to diet....
I'm on the 6 meals a day diet mostly protein and fat...
I've lost 20lbs. in 2 months to date.
Did you know the best time to take in most of your carbs is at breakfast... oatmeal is a perfect breakfast... If you eat alot of carbs during the day the only thing you use for energy are those carbs and you store that fat for later use... So, eat less carbs to burn more fat...

If you would like to see some pics. of me go to freetrainers.com and search for DaveTheMan26 that's me...

i was on the low carb diet for a few months and i lost 29 lbs. unfortunately i passed out a work (thank god i work in a hospital) and was admitted. they never really found out what the cause was, but my kidneys were geting damaged and i just felt non-functional. i was always out of it, and even the docs were asking me what happened to cause my change in personality.

i then found out that low carb diets can damage your kidneys, and have caused people to be hospitlaized. and i also found out that you need at least 150 grams of carbohydrates a day to continue functioning mentally. on the diet, you only get 20. so, basically i would not recommend this diet to anyone, it is very unhealthy. good luck.... try weight watchers!

low carbing is healthy and is a very effective tool when used to help manage the weight.

"low" carbing is very subjective as what is a high carbohydrate to one may be low to another. the 60% carbohydrates that is recommend by so many "health" professionals is rediculous. the carbohydrate intake should be based on the level of strenuous physical activity that the person participates in on a daily basis. the primary energy source of skeletal muscle is free fatty acids when at rest. rest being walking, light house work, computing, reading, watching tv, lifting light weights for high reps, etc. basic daily activities that don't really utilize the muscles enough for them to switch to using glycogen as the primary source of fuel.

having someone with a high percentage of body fat ingesting a lot of carbs (in my opinion that's more than 40%) on a daily basis will not aid in fat loss but impede it.

No, you pretty much just lose water weight. Go for a low cal diet, not low carb.

yes! Over doing carbs is bad but not haing any carbs is worse. The word is limit. just limit the amount of carbs and exercise and you'll have smooth sailing from then on. I suggest you focus on you calorie in take instead. the thing for girls is to limit your amount of calories to 2000 a day. Best of luck!

I'd say any diet plan you cannot sustain over a large period of time (i.e. your entire life) is a waste of time. it'll help you lose weight in a month. However, what about 3 months from now when all the weight you lost is back and bringing friends. I'm telling you, if you really want to fit into a specific weight range it's easy...seat healthy and work out. people don't say it because it sounds cool.

I don't agree with any diets, I look at life style changes. Know your body and the types off food your body agrees with. Many people have food allergies causing weight gain.

Balance is key, less sugar, wheat, junk and fast foods, more tea, fiber, water, veggies, fruits with out all the preservatives, pesticides, and additives.
