How tiny are you that you feel the need to get minimum wage schmucks in trouble for being less than ideal in an imperfect world? I wish that you had real problems so that you wouldn't feel that you were some sort of crusader when it came to sticking it to the cashier for either not kissing your butt enough or not having complete control over a chain of stores or whatever the hell your problem is as you're basking in the consumerist utopia of a developed nation, you ugly, entitled, pompous, ignorant, oblivious, capitalist running dog drowning in your excess.

Yes, somebody anonymously called my manager and said that they didn't like my attitude. I guess I didn't smile enough. MY MOM JUST DIED!

So sorry to hear about your mom...that's very tough to deal with, especially when you are expected to always have a smile on your face and be in a cheery mood. I work in retail too, so I know how you feel. I have my bad days too....I had a fight with my boyfriend, my grandpa is sick, I'm stressed because of school, etc. All I can do on those days is my best...try to keep my chin up and not let my bad mood interfere with my interactions with a customer. I know how horrible customers can be too...nobody has evet tried to get me fired, but I've had more than one incident where I felt like snapping on somone for trying to put something on me that isn't my fault or being completely unreasonable and ridiculous. Again, all you can do is try your best. I'm sure that your manager will be understanding and give you another chance, especially since this happened just after your mom died. Just remember that you can be the bigger person in the situation...don't stoop to their level!

I get you totally!! I was between jobs and working in a Starbucks, realy enjoying myself too. Anyway, one day this guy commented on the music that was playing and I said that I thought it sounded like Santana, he got really condensending, as if a Barista would dare know that information, and proceded to lecture me on jazz. When he left, I checked the album we were playing, sure enough, it was Santana.

I always say thank you, or at least smile, I know minimum wage "schmucks" work their butts off for very limited gratitude.

Besides, it's much more fun to try and get their bosses fired. Sorry to hear about your mom. Hopefully your manager backed you up.

Yes, some people really do feel so tiny and insignificant in their lives that the only control and power they can ever feel is to mess with you. And they milk it for all it's worth. And I am so sorry about your mom.

I'm so sorry about your mom. *Hugs* Yes, some people do seem to take all of their ills out of the 'store clerk'. Those that are miserable with their own lives tend to be the ones that seem to do that. Wishing you great healing. And please try to remember that Karma is a witch with a 'b' :)
