Of course I would NEVER even be in the same ROOM as someone eating that.
Keep in mind...some things in Wikipedia are NOT TRUE!
If you create a Wikipedia account, there are ways to edit the information on there. That's how it stays free.
So, don't believe EVERYTHING you read on there, and NEVER use it for any professional or school-related research.
However, regarding the guinea pigs...even though I, personally, would not eat any...other people would! It depends on their preference and culture, so you shouldn't think that it is any more gross than eating a cow, chicken, horse, pig, rabbit, or any other creature.
Cause the truth is: Humans eat animals...all kinds. Thats just a fact and theres nothing you can do about it. You just have to embrace it, and respect other people's decisions and cultures.
:)

Some cultures do that. There is no way we can stop them, but if we do some day, that will be awesome! I have 3 guinea pigs, and they are so cute. No one will ever eat my pigs!

I have two pigs, and would never let anybody eat them, or eat them myself. However, what makes a guinea pig more worthy to live than a cow, chicken, or pig?
I don't know, the people in Peru can do their own gig. My cousin always says, "Don't swim in my toilet, and I won't pee in your pool."

It is true as guinea pigs are a good, cheap source of protien for many countries in South and Central America. In parts of China, they eat dogs and keep chickens as pets.
There are people in the middle east who would find that your eating pork is gross. Would you eat a squirrell or an oppossum. Many Americans eat these and truely enjoy the flavor. Americans also eat snake, fox, rabbit and other meats that you don't usually find on grocery market shelves, like cow brains, pigs and chicken feet and oxtails.
Your thought that eating guinea pigs is "gross" merely shows that you are provincial in your thinking and not open to the beliefs and practices of other cultures.
And yes, if served to me in Peru or somewhere it might be common practice, I WOULD eat and enjoy a nicely prepared guinea pig.

-rolls eyes- First of all, all you people out there denying it: People in Peru DO eat guinea pigs. My aunt traveled there recently. The thing is the people are so poor there and guniea pigs are the cheapest animals to keep in larger numbers.
Secondly, to answer your question: -grins- I would I would!
Personally, guinea pigs and I have a dislike for one another. I'm not trying to be cruel here. I own snakes and love them to death--however, if given the opporunity, I'd try snake (not MY snakes, obviously)
Alligator is quite good. As is buffalo. In the far east, some people eat cat and dog. I'd probably try that too, provided I didn't have to watch them kill it. (i'm squeamish to that type of thing) All in all: we're omnivors. And everything has a predator. This is all natural...to a certain extent. ^.^

Some cultures eat dogs, some eat chickens, some eat guinea pigs. I'm vegetarian & wouldn't eat *any body* but I couldn't say it is more disgusting to eat one species than another.

In South America guinea pigs are wild animals, similar to wild game here in the states. Some people happen to find that they make tasty little morsels. It's a cultural thing.
