I was prescirbed antibotics in urgent care and the insturctions said something about calling for appoinment with the infectious disease clinic. Is that necsessary. I called the clinic and they gave me a hard time saying I needed a refereal and stuff.

Yes you need to follow up as you want to be sure it is gone etc. Also they will monitor to be sure you don't have any residual effects from it.

i have a friend who got lyme disease and hes on meds for the rest of his life. you need to follow up just the way your dr said so.

LYME DISEASE IS NOT LIKE A MOSQUITO BITE. IT'S A SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE WHICH REQUIRES PROPER CARE AND TREATMENT. DO WHAT YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU. GOOD LUCK.
