Considering all of the countries that have been affected by the threat of terrorism in recent years (USA, England, Spain, France, Vatican / Italy, Canada) it certainly is possible. Only time will tell.

By the way Al Cracka....in WWII we also went to war with Germany and Italy, who never attacked us.

Perhaps, but you're talking about two different situations. 9/11 was a terrorist attack, Pearl Harbor was a military/strategic strike. You can't have a world war without another country to fight it with, we're after terrorists now, the whole "regime who support them" thing is kind of negligable because we'll just be bouncing around forever. Pearl Harbor...the Japaneese knew exactly what they were doing, I mean, one of the big reasons they got into it was because the Nazis asked them to.

The attack on Pearl Harbor and the other military installations on Oahu island in the Territory of Hawaii was done by another nation using six aircraft carriers and over 300 aviators. The principal aim of that attacking nation was to sink the American Pacific Fleet to permit Japan easier access to vital materials from other nations in the Pacific without U.S. interference, under the guise of the Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere as envisioned in the Tanaka Plan of 1924.
The attack on America of September 11, 2001 was at least the third attack on the U.S. and its interests since Bin Laden's declaration of war against the U.S. and the "crusader nations" issued in 1998. The other attacks include the bombing of USS Cole and the bombs set off in our two embassies in East Africa. With the exception of the Cole, all of the attacks were meant to kill and maim civilians. These attacks were launched to foster the establishment of "Dar-Al-Islam" (the world of Islam) as envisioned by Seyyid Qutb in his book "Milestones".
In short, one was carried out by a nation. The other was carried out by a stateless group. The only connection is that both events provide fodder for the tin foil hat brigade to trot out conspiracy theories.

When the Japanese attacked us we were surprised. The very next day we declared war on ....Germany. But Germany didn't attack us right? Sound familiar to to days conflict? As for the predictions for WW3, Albert Einstein said " I don't know how world war 3 will be fought but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."

NO. We were the last country to enter WW2. Germany was already ravaging Europe, Japan had already invaded China.

We placed an oil embargo against Japan because of their invasion of China. They needed the oil for their industries so they attacked us for it. When we declared war on Japan the next day Germany declared war on the US.

That is when it became a world war.

Step- dad became in basic terms 17 on the time and together with his father giving the ok, he joined the army in honor of the two his cousin and for the conflict attempt. to no longer hearth up any hassle here yet I undergo in suggestions getting style of mad and that i might desire to tell many others have been getting warm under the collar whilst i became traveling the memorial. As all of us have been looking into the water and down on the spot the place the Arizona became, a team of youthful stupid human beings from Japan have been guffawing. They have been fortunate each and every person became on top of problems with themselves and in basic terms gave them grimy looks. I even have when you consider that been instructed that throughout the time of the colleges in Japan they in certainty do no longer talk or instruct something approximately their section in that affair. Heard that here in Hungary the place I now stay, many Gypsy young little ones have not have been given any thought that they too have been objectives for the loss of life camps. ask your self why they do no longer instruct them those information, except they( their governments) are embarrassed. My new DIL is from Japan and that i admire the persons from Japan extra often than no longer yet i can not overlook how indignant i became that day on the memorial.

No...the difference with Pearl Harbor is we attacked the country that attacked us

2007-08-02 15:52:43 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

No, while they were both attacks they are indeed different. The Japanese were brave enough to stand up and say they were soldiers and identified themselves as that. Unlike today's terrorist they didn't hide behind women and children like the cowards today's enemy seems to be. They are only brave when the other guy is unarmed. That is why they will lose in the end.
