Hey, I am a Christian and I have struggled all my life with my sexuality. I am not gay, but I am aroused sexually both my females and certain males. I have read verses, surrounded myself with women, and dating girls, but nothing has changed. I am not so much afraid as criticism as I am not serving my Lord properly and being what I once bashed...it was very wrong of me, because I forgot that everyone is human and we as servants of God are not to judge.

I want some help with this. If I cannot defeat it, I would like some verses or resources that will help it be less of my life until eventually I disregard it. As I said, I am not really 'gay'- I still have an eye for women and in fact can only imagine being intimate or sharing a relationship with one.

If you're struggling with your sexuality, Christians won't help you. They'll just try to dictate their interpretation of what some ancient superstitious zealots said.

Ultimately, it comes down to your decision. You know yourself, and you know the people you like to be around. Use your own head. You have a brain, and you can think about these things rationally. You're the one who has to be comfortable with what you decide to do.

Sexuality is not something to be defeated. It is something to be understood and enjoyed.

The scriptures in the Bible are clear that "same-sex" relationships are an abomination to God. It is not "judging" to call sin: "SIN". It is judging to say "you are terrible and I am better than you". I don't say that, but I will tell you that practiced sin, defined by God AS sin will bring the wages due it; death. I tell you this because YOU alone have this decision to make and I pray you make the correct one that will keep you from throwing your entire life away for physical/emotional gratification.
I wonder if you were ever abused or violated sexually in any way? Were you wanted just AS you are, a woman from conception? Is gender confusion in any other generation before you? I am so sorry you are struggling with this and "an eye for women" isn't all your life is about. Ask the Lord to straighten this out for you and to settle it inside you and even show you why it got this way. He does NOT send the spirit of confusion to ANYONE! Especially NOT set you up for a life of struggle or for sin!
Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit.., ask God for it. It is real and He settles many things inside us. It IS a work of grace AFTER the salvation experience!
Sets your "spirit" in charge over your mind and body. It happens when you seek it and have hands laid on you 'FOR IT' by a "Spirit-filled believer.

I'm not sure what to say on this but I can tell you from what I've read usually men that feel as you do have been sexually insulted as children so prehapes some counseling?

And I'm sure if you look there are numerouse Christian groups that specifically set up to help men with issues like you are having.

All I can do is pray for you to find the answers that you are seeking. To be brought peace and comfort from God. To know you are his child and that he will protect you. That Satan has no reign over you and you can defeat all sin through Christs scarfice. I pray that you seek Gods face always and that your eyes will not see deceiption and your ears will be plugged to lies. So that you may glorify your heavenly Father and forever live in the shelter of his wings.

In Jesus Name Amen.

1 first corinthians 10 verse 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1ST PETER 4 VERSE 12, Beloved think it not strange that
concerning this fiery trial which it to try you as though something strange thing has happen to you
Its a blessing to hear you speak with an open heart, But the bible tells us to be wise as serpents, becareful who you ask because the devil will try anyway to lead you astray
NOTICE WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY. The bible clearly tells us to cast down ever imagation that exalts itself against the world of God. In the book of 2 Timothy 3 talks about without natural affection meaning man and woman to man with man. But your not there. 1 Timothy ch 4 verse 8 say Godliness is profitable unto all things. There are guys out there who dress nice where Nice smelling colones and so on and so. Your are one of them and me to probably But acknowledging that is fine. But to desire to be with them in homo way is not of God. Not saying thats you. Read study and you'll be fine, But God is not the author of confusion so dont allow yourself to get caught up thinking about all the snares of the devil. Read Ephesians CH 6 pay close attention to verse 17 the helmet of Salvation. If the devil can get in your mind he he can cause you alot of problems and have you thinking crazy and acting crazy as well. James Chapter 4 verse 7 tell us to Submit yourself therefore to God Resist the devil and he will flee. YOU MUST STUDY. WHEN THE THOUGHS COME REBUKE IT OUT LOUD. DONT STOP UNITL IT LEAVES SAY JESUS HELP ME, The bible tells us not entertain the thought so cast it out and fill your mind with the word of God.

There is a Christian website that offers courses for people who want to make changes for the best. They will teach you how to use God's power to beat this thing. If you try to do it in your own strength, you will probably fail. If you are really looking to free yourself of these homosexual desires, it is well worth the work. The name of the course is "The Door of Hope."

Remember that temptation is not sin. We all get tempted. And we are tempted with a great many things that we know are inappropriate.

The pat answer is 1Cor 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
- 1Cor 10:13

There are many things that are a major downfall to many people that are not temptations to me. I have no problem with alcohol, or gambling, or adultery. I never do that and I never get tempted with it. (Technically we're all adulterers in mind and heart.) But I mean physically. I can honestly say that I've been pure in that sense.

There are many other things that are a problem for me and it is a struggle for me to control them.

Sodomy is very widespread right now, and the media is pushing it a great deal. Remember how much the media pushed (hetro) sex perversion forty years ago, and still is. Teenage kids are actually being told by school councilors to "discover their sexual identity". That is just plain sodomy and that's all there is to it.

A queer will always say that if you find same-sex attractive, then you must be a little bit gay. Not so. It is perfectly normal to find some members of your own gender to be good looking people. My wife likes to admire and criticize feminine beauty as art, but that doesn't make her a lesbian.

Remember David,

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
- 2Sam 1:26

Now a "gay" church will always raise this verse to argue that David and Jonathan were gays. That's a bald-faced lie, for there is no sodomy in here at all.

As for you "being aroused" by certain males, that is a temptation. You know right and wrong and you will have to choose.

If you love somebody, then you love what they love and you hate what they hate.

Do you love God?

The Bible says that there isn;t any temptation thats uncommon to man. It sounds like your doing the right thing. While there is no "gay gene" you may be more likely to be tempted in that area than others. Some people are more tempted to drink, lie, steal etc... you should talk to your pastor or some other older wiser Christian.

Why obsess over that? Too much idleness? Get on with living the Christian life. "he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." 2Cor 5:15 Develop and apply your spiritual giftedness. Identify areas of responsibility. Exercise graciousness and prepare for the judgement day. Those kinds of things will distract from such lusts as dominate an idle lifestyle.

Bless your heart, I feel for you. I have found that replacing a bad thought with a godly thought every time it happens and not putting myself in situations that would be tempting to me. It will take a while, but pray, pray and pray some more. If you are saved, God will hear you and His grace is sufficient. If that doesn't work, I would try deliverance. Its hard to find people that know what they are doing, but I wish you the best.

Your Father is greater than all. Where you are weak He is strong. Sin is difficult to overcome, but with God all things are possible. Being a Christian does not mean you are perfect, just forgiven.

You are on the right path by understanding the problem. Pray daily and read the Bible. God, through the comforter, His Holy Spirit, will show you the truth if you keep your mind set on Him and not on the problem. You are forgiven if you have accepted Jesus into your heart and He will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind set on Him.
