The Earth is shaped like a sphere (round) and rotates:

Isaiah 40:22 (746-680 BC)

[It is] he that sitteth upon the circle (the Hebrew word for 'circle' can also mean a 'sphere') of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Luke 17:34-36
I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
Two shall be grinding together;
the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two shall be in the field;
the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luke 17:34-36 depicts Christ's Second Coming as happening while some are asleep at night and others are working at day-time activities in the field, an indication of a rotating earth with day and night at the same time.

Again, this proves you can twist words around to mean and prove anything. You can even prove that satan is a better being that that god fellow. Those of us that can think for ourselves know that the bible is just a book written by men to control men.

funny how all of the early hebrew depictions of the earth showed it as a flat circle with 4 arched entrances, they didn't seem to think it was a sphere. but then again they were only native speakers of the language and bible scholars know best, don't they.

and as for the bible being the word of god. would any supreme being put forward its agenda in such ambiguous and unclear language. if it was clear and understandable there would only be one church and one interpretation, unless of course that god wants to sow disharmony and strife amongst the thousand of different christian sects.

there is more science in a doctor seuss book than there is in the whole bible.

Yes I do as the Bible is man-made to create FEAR

And we are not here to have a journey through life build on FEAR

I am a Spiritual Being living my life the best way I can for my own Personal Growth, growing with as much knowledge I can take in for this life time.

You can only see the Truth if your mind is open for it :)

Nothing in life is to be feared, It is only to be understood.

Love & Blessings

NOOOOOOO! It is definatly the word of God. Everything in there means something to us. But we're only humans and most of the time we don't understand what it means. That's why we should read the Bible through more than once. God reveals to us the meaning of the versus when we truly need it. Christians rock But Jesus ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad the prophets didn't know anything about electricity, or penicillin (rotting orange peel) and people had to work it out on their own.

YEP! Very much so. I deny. I do not believe. No god, no heaven, no hell = no word of god floating around.
