ISLAM:

Religion is meant to be EXPERIenced just as SCIENCE is meant for EXPERIment.
So why not conduct a TRUE experiment, gather some data and a real Representative Sample, and then see if LOGIC applies to RELIGION.

Depends on how a person is using it. Religion has been known to give hope when none was on the horizon. Faith has given comfort to the sick and dying. Religon has also inspired many great works of art and philosophy.
Granted, religion has also caused billions of deaths, persecutions, and other atrocities. Religion was also one of the contributing factors for the 'dark ages' and the destruction of many tomes of knowledge...the book and library burnings, censorship, and other forms of restrictions placed on the lives of others...even people not of the same faith.
Logic would depends on which side of the coin is looking at...one side is about selfishness, the other connectedness.

It is pretty scary to think that you have no control over what happens to you and that eventually you will die. Religion promises help during your life through prayer (or a rain dance, chant) and eternal life. It provides some rules of behavior that in most cases help us live together in some kind of order.
