My friend's mom is crazy (literlly) My friend is from vietnam, and moved here when she was 2. Her mom hears voices in her head, and screams and breaks things. She hits her dad, and one night she took my friend at like 3 in the morning and tried to get her to marry this other boy from vietnam in her class. She is onlly 11 years old. She takes scissors and cuts on cut into a sleeve of my friends shirt. She breaks the house supplies and screams and tries to kill herself. Is this considerd abuse? My friend and I have been friends sinse Kindergarden. I was the only person who taught her stuff. We are basically sisters, but she is from Vietnam. We think alike and act alike. If this is child abuse could she come stay with me and away from her mom? Her dad is the only one with a job and he saves my friend, but can't save himself...My friend calls her mom, and I qoute "A HUGE BIG FAT MEANIE."

Your friend should tell a teacher or if she is brave enough, a child services worker, or better yet, have her speak with a juvenile Officer at your local police department, they can help you. I hear "voices" too; they are telling me your friend may be in big trouble and get hurt one of these days by her Mom. Go to an adult you trust and tell them about it, maybe your own parents?? They know more than you give them credit for, and good for you trying to help your best friend, It may save her life someday. Don't ever be afraid to speak up and ask for help when you believe something isn't right. Good luck and God Bless.

HI my friend needs help,
Of course this is abuse. Your friend can probably report this to Department of Child Welfare in your state. But this also would mean her leaving her own home sometimes a much better solution, & then again she maybe put into foster care, There are different options & It's possible she could stay with you while her Mom gets the help she needs. You can research different cultures-kids marry kids in some cultures and countries. Good luck & have a good day. :0)

This IS abuse and not a healthy environment at all. If your friend feels that she would be better off without her Mom in the house, have her tell someone the COMPLETE TRUTH. Or if she doesn't want to, ask her if she would like you to tell somebody. This does not sound normal to me. The easiest person to get help from would be your teacher.

Sorry to all the others that have answered, but unfortunately, unless your friend has actually been physically harmed then it will not get classed as abuse.
The mom needs mental health help, she obviously has a mental health condition, most likely schizophrenia.
Your friend can still get help if she is scared of being at home.
The best person to talk to would be your school principal, he can organise a social worker to talk to.

Glinda W. HOW DARE YOU!! There is an innocent 11 year old's life at stake here. You can't possibly have any children of your own or if you do, then you must abuse them. How can you be such a heartless witch? I don't care where someone is from, abuse is abuse!

It is possible that it can be called child abuse. I would recommend you ask your parents to get involved if you think your friend is in any danger.

yes it is abuse. u should let the teacher know. im not sure about her living with you though. that would have to be decided by the courts. unfortuneately she might get put into a foster home temporaily but u dont want her to be abused so it might be worth it before she really gets hurt

How old are you? Different cultures behave differently, get out of their business, Just because someone act "crazy" when the child becomes unruly it is not abuse. Maybe your parents should set some rules for you....butt out
