FIRST - stop brushing your hair all the time! It can be damaging! Only brush after shower (preferably when your hair is dry so hair isn't likely to snap and break off)...

SECOND - find a good conditioner. Redken, Aveda.. products like these are good for your hair.

THIRD - Find a detangler... and spray it in your hair before you comb it in the morning.

FOURTH - get a WIDE tooth comb. DON'T .. i repeat.. DON'T get those paddle brushes.. you know, the round ones? Get the wide tooth combs because it helps with knots and tangles.

FIFTH - once a week, put olive oil in your hair for 15 minutes, then rinse with shampoo, and conditioner. It'll help your hair to be silky, shiny, and less notty..

When I have patient i use rubbing alcohol and it helps (don't get it in your eye and just on the tangle). may just have to get it cut shorter and brushing your hair in the shower helps me To prevent knots you can braid you hair before you go to bed

do you wear a scarf? a silk scarf is best. it won't make it friz. make sure you tie it tight. and then you can get a dollar bonnet at the hair store to reenforce that. it holds ur hair in place. also what helps if ur against tjhat idea. put it in a pony tail and braid it and put a rubber band on the end. when u sleep, ur moving ur hair around and it gets tangled.

I had a friend with hair like that. I told her to let her hair do what it wanted to. Cut it in layers and just wear it curly all the time.

She still wears her hair that way (20 years).
