I will always say Toyota because they are very good but in this case you must think about the fact that it is ten years older than the Buick. Maybe you will get a bit more for the newer car [Buick]when you sell it later on.
If you however plan to keep it for a while and they are more or less in the same condition take the Toyota.

The Cressida - I had an 84, and it was a great car. Properly maintained, it will last you many years. Even with the 6 cylinder engine, I got 24 - 27 MPG, which I don't think the regal can touch.

I'd go for the Toyota. Easier to park; might be better on gas; insurance could be cheaper but check on that. Also, depending on where you live, the car tags my be cheaper.

But if the car is pretty sound, take care of it and you can get it to 300,000 miles. Not many USA made cars can do that.

buick. its bigger, faster, nicer, newer, less miles, more reliable, gets better mileage.

the guy who says a 3800 v6 cant go 300,000 miles is wrong. thats one of the most reliable engines out there. they can also get over 30 mpg. it took the rest of the world decades to build an engine that made more power, was reliable and could match the mileage.
