It is difficult to maintain a simple friendship knowing that you and the other person are attracted to one another, but it's not impossible. Just try to always keep in mind that you ARE just friends, and don't do anything that might suggest you want to take it to the next level. Because you never know, his feelings for you might be back to a friends-only stage by then.
If he's single later on, and you know he's still interested in you, then the sky's the limit!

why would it destroy your friendship? if you two are close and have been friends for 4 years you should remain friends, just because you both confessed you liked eachother i dont understand y it would destroy what you have? since he has a girlfriend you just have to respect that and lay low. just continue to be that friend he has always has. then if he brings it up or suggest something further then a friendship AFTER his relationship with his girl then you can see where it goes from there. but for now just take it slow because you dont want to ruin a happy home right? just go out for pizza and be the best of friends you can be. maybe sometimes being his friend is better then being his girl or being nothing at all.because i wish i could have been friends with everyone ive been with other then being there girl becaues friendship seems to last much longer. good luck! hope i helpd

Just be polite and friendly to him. Try not to let it destroy your friendship. So things didn't work out...make sure you stay friends and don't make each other uncomfortable.

Well I think you should have told him that you liked him if his relationship with his current gf didn't work out. I don't think it'll ruin your friendship, but you may feel some romantic tension I guess.

if you like the guy go for it. yes chances are you might not be able to come out of it as freinds if it ends badly, but life is too short to worry about it you gotta take risks and go after what means the most to you in life, and lots of times the risks pay off. i wouldn't move to fast with your new relationship but take things slow and easy and its said that freinds who become lovers often make the strongest bonds
however before you go out with him make sure you wont be wrecking his relationship with his girlfriend, if he really feels like he says about you then he should break it off with her before going out with you. because if he goes out with you while dateing her that would be cheating.

It depends on your relationship... My best guy friend (Whom I have been friends with for 13 years.) told me that he felt as if we should date... But I disagreed and our friendship really was not affected...

It may. It may not. No one knows how it will turn out. Some guys are just immature like that. Good luck with that!

not destroy but it won't be the same as before. Liking your friend as a friend is not the same as liking him as something else.
