I want everything I need for my new sax because this one's staying with me for a loooonnnggg time

Um ok... of the top of my head,reeds, cleaning kit, polishing cloths, case, reeds, maybe some extra pads, a neck strap, maybe a stand to put it when you dont want to put it back into the case... oh and did I mention REEDS!

A saxophone first off requires a mouthpiece (the stock isn't too good usually), saxophone reeds (if your just starting get around 2 or 2.5), a ligature (assuming the mouthpiece doesn't come with one), a neck strap, reed case (or you can use the ones the reeds come in), and a swab to clean out the saxophone. Cork grease might also be useful if a mouthpiece isn't going on the neck easy.

Instead of a neck strap, invest in a Sax Harness - the kind that goes over your shoulders almost like bookbag straps, and latches in the front. It is MUCH better for you - the weight of the sax in now neither on your neck of right thumb. There are nerves that go from your neck, down your arms to your fingers - and the neck strap compresses them in many cases. the Sax Harness relieves all strain there. You will be able to play easier, for a longer time!

Get a decent mouthpiece and ligature, reeds, sling, one of those big silky pull-throughs that you can use for the main body, neck and mouthpiece (they're handy!), a leave-in fluffy cleaner, a case with a shoulder strap, cork grease, stand, am... metronome, tuner... I'm just going through all the stuff I have in my case.... pencil, reed-cutter (I never use it!), Vandoran reed resurfacer and stick (very handy!)..... am that's bout it really.... maybe one of those boxes that hold loads of reeds.... can't think of anything else!
