Conranger 1...why don't you learn how to spell yourself??? It is "too" not "to". Go back to elementary school. He spends all day here trying to correct people's spelling instead of answering questions. He can't even spell right himself. This is the easiest word in the dictionary.

If you're on a main base then most likely you have air conditioning. However, if you're at a small battle position then you won't. My first trip to Iraq was during the fall/winter months and if was freezing at night, so A/C was not a factor.
My second trip was at the beginning of spring all through the summer and into the fall. We were at a small platoon size base that we built out of hesco barriers and sandbags. We didn't have A/C and it sucked a$$. Towards the end of the deployment we had built the base up enough that the Sea Bees thought it safe enough to come out and put in some window A/C units for us. It makes life a little more manageable. Thank God for the Sea Bees. Because believe me when you wake up and your pillow is drenched you're covered is sweat which is covered by a layer of fine sand life sucks.

There are some who do and some who dont. Most of the base camps have a/c. There are soldiers though who go out on missions and probably sleep without a/c. I have been twice the first time we didnt have it until about 6 months into the deployment and it was miserable. Most of us slept outside because our buildings and tents were too hot. After the first six months and my entire second deployment we had a/c but I cant speak for all soldiers.

Yes they do. even the tankers have air conditioning in the tanks &the humvee are air condition also. ok that bull" but some may have air. the REAR/ECHELON all so there may be a rest area were the line troops get to go for a brake every so often that is air condition. being a soldier is not easy, long hours doing a lot of thing you may not like over and over then do it again.you learn that there is" the army way" then there the right way"

I was there for 8 months, I went just after we bombed them in the beginning. It sucked at first but by the time I left they were making living a lot better for the soldiers. We had a/c after about 6 months of being there, I imagine that by now there probably aren't many that don't sleep in a/c.

It depends where they are. In the more established bases they do. For the troops living in tents they have what is called a enviromental control unit, ECU for short. It is both a air conditioner and heater. It works really well too. When I was in the sand box we would sweat all day and freeze at night.
Not all troops have this available though.

NO they go to sleep most of the time not even having a shower while the Iraqi government is going to take a two month holiday. Can you imagine... . . . . the US forces get shot at and and abused while the OVERLORDS take a well deserved brake. If only you had the b@lls to be there.
Those are some of the bravest people you will ever encounter anywhere on this earth.

In Kuwait? Everyone sleeps in A/C tents (you can't sleep in 120 degree heat), same in Iraq; some even have 2 man "hooches" with electricity and A/C.

lots of us get AC. In the Air force we all get AC and some US Army soldiers get AC but only on a few bases. As time goes on those commodities are slowly making their way over there.
And it has nothing to do with being officers or enlisted. The guy who took your serious question as an oppurtunity to bash rummy is a moron.
