Yes, many born again and fundamentalists believe this. I do not know if they all do. Seems wrong to me that they see no problem with condemning the over 200,000 non-Christians who died in the Dec. 26 2004 tsunami to Hell.

Hearing about Christ never saved anyone. Believing in Christ is what saves you. Btw, we are not saved from hell, we are saved from sin.
read Romans 1:19-20
19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
"If you do, why and what about people in countries where it is illegal to be Christian?"
Its illegal to kill someone in the US but it still happens. It is illegal to be a christian in some countries but it still happens. Don't really see your point.
Did you know that mormons believe that when they die, they will get their own planets and be gods themselves, while the bible says there is only one true god?
Did you know that mormons believe that the book of mormon is the inspired word of god while the bible says in Revelation 22:18-19 that you shouldn't add to or take away from the bible?
did you know that mormons believe that salvation comes through a combination of grace by faith and works while the bible says salvation comes by faith alone?
no, you didn't offend me, hope i didn't offend you

Paul talks about this issue in the book of Romans chapter 2
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Those who "do not have the law", meaning have never heard the message of the Bible, will be judged by the "law" written in their hearts. Did they try to live a good life, serve God (as they understood him) and do what they knew was right - or did they "sin" against the understand they did have?
Some will be "excused" and others "accused" by their own hearts.
God does not send anyone to hell for ignorance. Even those who never hear the Bible still know right and wrong, and are judged by it.

I'm not a Babtist, but I have heard that question on a Bible Study I did on Genesis. The pastor said that, if there were someone who never heard of Jesus Christ, and died, that person would be held accountable on Gods Creation. Now, look at most "lost" tribes all over the world. They ALL worship some sort of creator. So, when they die, they at least they give recognition to a Creator. So I believe that they are saved. Just because they have never heard of, or been taught of Jesus, they at least give God credit for creation, because that is as far as their "knowlage" allowed them to have.

look here is the thing, people who havent heard of christ have a chance at going to heaven until their innocence is gone.
Like babies, we were all innocent and did not know wrong, but now we all know right from wrong and have all done, well both.
those who have not heard of christ have done wrong and do know that it was wrong. Wrong cannot be with christ therefore unless you have jesus to wipe that Wrong out of you life you will be forever sepperated from god, in a place we know as Hell. so therefore yes, those who dont know about christ, and know the difference bettween wrong and right, go to, Hell.
but if you have not heard of christ and you know nothing about wrong or right(most likely if you are stranded from birth) then you are free from hell. but the chances are not so likely.
people in old times were killed because they loved God and believed in Jesus
if you are in a country where you are not aloud to believe in him, no matter how unfair it is, it doesnt matter, you still have the opportunity to believe in him, but he will bless you for the prosecution you must bear. and many people do live in those countries and must hide their faith in secrets.
hope this helps any.

Missionarys has been around for many years, and I mean many. The words of God is printed into many different languages now. I don't think there is anyone on this earth who hasnt heard.I am a Baptist. Cause God is not going to send anyone to hell if he has never heard the word of truth. So that means everyone has heard of God.

I was raised baptist... now anti organized religion. I have never heard of that in the 16 years I got that religion crammed down my throat. Baptist believe that if you have been given the opportunity to learn about god and heard his word and still deny him you go to hell.

John 14:5-7
New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Father Revealed
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

The Bible Says Clearly that the gospel of Jesus Christ will be preached to the ends of the earth and "THEN" the end shall come.....
so you see it will literally be impossible for anyone to use the excuse that they havent heard the gospel of Jesus Christ...
God is Fair and Just...And not willing that any should perish..but that all would come to repentance....
which is why he is giving us so much time...not that he is slack in his coming judgement...but that he is merciful and wants us all to come to know his saving grace !!!!

I believe all those who will be saved will hear the gospel of Jesus and will believe but, those who hear and deny will go to hell. The bible tells that all will hear the gospel. Missionaries are sent to other countries that do not accept christianity and are persecuted for it.
