Someone did mention Steve Young, who is a direct descendant of Brigham Young.
Also, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is LDS.
One last thing: Gordon B. Hinckley is the President of the Church, the Mormon equivalent of the Pope except that he claims to be a Prophet, Seer and Revelator (something the Pope does not claim).
