The dictionary says "good" is to be "morally excellent." Let s look at God s moral standard the Ten Commandments, and see how we do. Is God first in your life? Do you love Him with "heart, mind, soul and strength?" Have you made a god to suit yourself? Have you used His name in vain? Have you always honored your parents? Have you looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart? Have you lied (including "fibs"), stolen (the value is irrelevant), or coveted other people s possessions? If you are honest, you know you will be guilty on the Day of Judgment. God, however, doesn t want to send you to Hell. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the Cross, so you could go free. That s how much God loves you. We broke God s Law, but Jesus took our punishment and died on the cross. He then rose from the grave defeating death. If you repent (turn away from all the things you know are wrong) and trust in Him, God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life. Begin by reading your Bible daily and then obey what you read. God will never let you down.

Can you show me where these are in conflict with living a "good life"?
Yes I can. No one is good.
They have all turned aside,They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. Psalm 14:3

The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Jeremiah 17:9-10
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12

We have all fallen short of God's standard.
God cannot tolerate sin, because He is Holy.
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die as a substitute for us.
Jesus took upon Himself the punishment which we deserved.
He was that bridge between us and God. He laid down His life.
He knew no sin. He became sin, for us.

Our response should be to give back the life we owe, submitting all that we are to Him. Asking forgiveness of sins, and cleansing by His precious blood.
For Jesus Christ made a way for us, where there was no way.

LOL. Your joking right? "God will never let you down"??? HA! Oh my. If your not joking look into therapy. The majority of the "morals" you listed were just praising god. How is that moral. And coveting other peoples stuff? Come on man everybody wants what the next guy has. This is so silly. Go read some comics. The fictional characters there instill morals and are allot cooler than your god. Stop being so dang silly.

I follow the eightfold path and 5 precepts of Buddhism. Can you show me where these are in conflict with living a "good life"?
Edit- no I mean show me, not copy and paste Bible verses. If I tried to prove something to you using the Buddha's teachings, would you accept it as fact. You would not because you do not believe in the Buddha's teachings. I meant to actually think for yourself and not fall back on Bible verses. This is a little harder to answer now, since you will actually have to learn what the eightfold path and 5 precepts are. Here's a little hint- they are very similar to the Ten Commandments and Jesus's teachings.

Obeying I think is where most Christians get bogged down. A lot that I know still sin frequently, and then ask to be forgiven through Communion, and then continue to commit the same sin.

Let people believe what they want. You folks that call yourselves "ANYTHING but a Christian" are some of the meanest people I have ever encountered. Are you just afraid of someone or something governing over you? Do you follow and so called "code of good conduct"? Or do seriously believe you are the only sane ones??
I have been to many Christian churches and met many, many other Christian, but I have had only a very few try to force their beliefs on me. I knew those were the one I WOULD NOT follow.

I was saved March 4, 1999. Jesus took those sins and washed them away by his blood. The accuser likes to try and bring them up before Jesus but he does not remember them.

good job.
it's so easy.
and yet people reject it.
it's hard to take, the rejection.
just know in your heart what you say is true.
as the old saying goes...you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
we can only plant a seed and hope someday, somewhere down the road that seed gets watered and fed and starts to grow.
keep up the good work.
blessings!

Not quite sure what your question is but sure you should read the Bible and the devil doesn't want you to read any holy book.
