I have to pay £5 ($10) a pack of 20 in the UK, and I see international brands of cigarettes online for $10 for 200.

Is it legal to order them from the UK? Are they real cigarettes or cheap cigarettes with fake packaging? Am I likely to incur any taxes?

Also, can anyone recomend and good site they've used before.

Thanks

It is leagal to order cigarettes from the UK as well as from other countries via internet. All the cigarettes are real and genuine.Of course, nowadays there are lots of sites that can cheat you, take your money and provide no services.
I can reccomend you a couple of good sites, but as you are suspicious about the quality of cigarettes i'd better give you a link to a Universal guide to online cigarettes purchasings. It will give answers to your questions better than me. I also had some doubts before i started purchasing them online.

Hi there,

Yes it is legal to receive cigarettes over postage. Taxes on cigarettes are so high in UK which moves prices up!
As long, each package is marked as GIFT, you won't pay any taxes.

I am from Australia and tried once to order from www.cheapnetcigarettes.com and didn't have to pay any taxes. I guess Customs regulations here is bit similar!

DON'T SMOKE TOO MUCH : )

I'm in California and bought cigarettes online from one of the Indian reservations in another state. I got a TAX BILL from the state of California! They wanted me to pay them tax on cigarettes I bought out of state!

They are real cigarettes.

I have heard good things and bad things about this. Obviously the cigarettes are a lot cheaper, but I've been told that they taste differently. I have also heard that the government can come back and bite you in the you-know-what for doing it this way. A little research would probably be advised.
