While there is no over the night remedy for soreness-- a hot bath and stretching followed by a good nights sleep will be help out. I know I take a pain reliever when I've gotten too sore like aleve or something. Oh and don't forget to stretch out before you go to bed and in the morning! I was a cheerleader for 12 years ;)

Soak in a hot tub of water. Use epsom salts if you have them or baking soda. Each day it will get easier. But until you condition you body you will be sore because you are over working yourself all at once. You should have worked up to the 6 hours slowly adding a few more each week until you reached the amount you wanted to do in a day.

Ibuprofen is good for reducing inflammation and swelling. So is ice on the affected area. A hot tub is good for helping you relax, if you have a spasm or "charley horse". Note you should still do the ice if you have inflammation to avoid blood pooling in the area. Use the ice before and after the heat. The advice to have two bananas is probably for the potassium in them, useful for guarding against cramps, but a doctor friend of mine pointed out that there isn't that much potassium in two bananas. Take a supplement if you want to add potassium.

Mu daughter is in competative cheerleading and she comes home from practice almost crying she hurts so bad, I usually give her some "Aleve" or "Ibeprofun".

Then she takes a cool shower or bath to relax, unfortunately there is no majical cure for tired and sore muscles, other than rest.

You might try some of the many types of sports creme thats used for sore and stiff muscles.

Drink vitamin C and a couple of bananas. Rest as much as possible. Drink lots of WATER. And maybe a glutamine supplement if you're always sore like that. Good luck.

Get as much sleep as you can tonight. Because you've been using your muscles so much at cheerleading, they need time to repair themselves overnight. Also drink a lot of water to rehydrate yourself and replace the water you sweat out. Hope this helps!

Wow it sounds like you're really dedicated. Give it a few more days, your body will get used to it. If you take a big break though, your body will get out of shape again. Just relax and stretch!
