your question implies that you believe that 'christ' is a proper name, hence would be capitalized. It is not a proper name. The capitalization was custom. The capitalization of the word 'Christianity' has nothing to do with the capitalization of the name, as in the case of say Orthodoxy, or Islam.

I suspect English is not your first language (that's fine, it isn't mine!) - "it's" gives you away - so perhaps you don't realize that you have 'loaded the question' with your opening contrafactual clause. Have a good day!

a. christ walked the earth
b. christianity is the only religion that isn't a cult.

CHRIST = 1. Jesus of Nazareth, held by Christians to be the fulfillment of prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the eventual coming of a Messiah.
2. the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament (used chiefly in versions of the New Testament).
3. someone regarded as similar to Jesus of Nazareth.

CULT = "a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader."

Christians follow Christ period.

Personally I think all religions should be capitalized. you would capitalize a girl's name, but not the word 'girl'. Most people think that their religion is truth & that everyone else's is fiction, but they all deserve respect as the powerful spiritual outlines they give to their followers.
The question really shouldn't be specific to any religion, it should be "does any religion deserve to be capitalized"

If so, where does AD originate - history itself recognizes that AD meant after the death of Christ.

Except that since Jesus did exist, it doesn't really matter whether you capitalize the "c" in "christians" or not. Doesn't affect his historicity one bit.

Acctually if you look in other religions they also agree there was a Christ just many other religions feel he was a prophet and not the Mesiah that Christians believe he was.

Careful, your ignorance is showing.....

Even the worlds top non-Christian scholars believe there was a man named Jesus. There is far to much evidence to support this. You can question his divinity if you like, but to question his existence is just....well...dumb.
