Ok my first adivce when you meet someone and you want to get married is this:
1. Can you speak with them like you do to your friends for hours on end. Because one day when the physical intermancy passes all you'll have is the conversations and the friendship. So make sure the are a friend.
2. Are they your friend, do they listen to what you say, do you listen to what they say?Because this is the person who will have to put up with you and vice verser when your having a blow out with your mates.
3. Do you both have the same sort of dreams? See if you want kids and he/she doesn't don't think by marrying them that will change. Make sure that you both have a clear understanding of what the future goals you both have together.

First, they have to be my best friend. That means trust, and lots to talk about. Second, he has to have a great sense of humor, otherwise I get in a lot of trouble. Last, he has to make more money than I do (that's the easiest). If he can't support me, what's going to happen if I ever grow up enough to have a baby?
