A number of politicians on the Democratic and Republican side of things have speculated about doing so. Barak Obama said he'd want to shift the war to places like Pakistan and back over Afghanistan. He's really taking the stand of "Let's fight the War on Terror" and I think it's a good idea but you can't leave Iraq a mess like it is now.

of course not firstly pakistan is a member of the british commonwealth and america could not go to war with a member of the british commonwealth, her majesty queen lizzie just wouldnt allow it. remember all the fuss mrs thatcher made all those years ago when america invaded grenada over something, well mrs t went up the wall and told ronnie reagan to get the american arses out, and that was just a tiny little island, but it was part of the commonwealth, plus pakistan is one of america and britains biggest allys, it would be like america going to war with canada, australia or new zealand

General Musharraf is politically paralized in this region for a number of reasons, so it is now up to us to decimate the Taliban/ alQaeda in this area. We would like to see a few members of the Paki government dead, as some support the Taliban's principals, but we are not actively planning to go to war with Pakistan.
