yes a single person NEEDS to be self content first and foremost. The less you "need" someone else the more attactive you become.

Yes, a single person can be content, if thats what they want. The definition of lonliness is when you feel empty or your life feels empty, even though you have many friends or family around you, it still doesnt fill in that emptiness. What a makes a single person lonely is being single, on your own, not a couple. If a single person fills lonely, even though they may have many friends and family around them, that single person crave an intimate companion. It has nothing to do wtih filling in your day with tasks, events etc. It has to do with filling your heart.

I'm single and loving it. So, yeah.. a single person CAN be self content.
A single person is only lonely when they dwell on the fact that they are single. Keep busy!!

Well..you probably wouldnt feel lonely all the time...
but when it hits you...you will feel pretty much depressed and LONELY!
you feel lonely when you are just sad all the time, feels empty, stress out and pretty much hate going home ( coz you know you will be doing the same thing or seeing the same thing, which is nothing)

We all need to be around people and have a special someone. When you feel lonely go out on a date or just go out to a sportsbar or something and make some friends.
