A couple of months ago I saw this site that said in the title 'Don't read this if you like animals, SERIOUSLY!' and my curiosity got the better of me and it was this really disgusting horrific description of the most depraved act of animal cruelty I have ever encountered, and it keeps coming back into my mind and every time I think of it I feel physically sick.

What you need is EMDR therapy. (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). What you do is think about what is distressing you whilst moving your eyes left to right rapidly.
Oh and copius amount of alcohol!!

Yup..a friend's brother mentioned this website with funny stuff on. I had a look and some of what I saw was unbelievably disgusting, shocking and violent, stuff I would never describe. I haven't thought about it for ages. Till now actually. It took me a while to get over.

It's good that people have this reaction though. It shows that our human senses are working - seems that not many people are at times..

Don't worry you will feel o.k. It's just a case of finding a place in your mind to put it, then forgeting about it. NOT that you should have to, but I guess you ignored the warning as did I.

I really can empathise. I thought I needed treatment for PTSD too. Sorry to hear you have had this experience. It is unbelievably shocking what goes on out there.

Take care.

I wouldn't go as far as to say you are suffering from PTSD. But it is obvious this was a really horrific experience for you. Since it has been 2 months and it's still bothering you I would maybe consider talking to a therapist about what happened and how your feeling. They may have some good ideas on how to help you feel better.

First of all stay away from the illegal substances they will only make things worse. Secondly I would not call them friends, pot is not a relaxant and it will add additional problems to your life. Now as to PTSD you need to see a therapist and talk about what has happened. So that you can begin to cope with the issues that are troubling you. Please, go see a mental health professional. God bless you

You could have gotten a touch of post traumatic stress syndrome if you felt completely horrified by what you saw. Try to put it in the back of your mind and forget it. I would suggest next time though that you don't play curious George and get traumatized again.

I may have found and looked into the same site while looking for no kill animal shelters. I know the feeling. My white cat has been missing a week and I keep imagining that she wanted me when what ever happened to her happened. It can be haunting.

I think I have it from watching you on Youtube.

And I almost took you seriously.

The bananas for fingers thing was pretty funny.

I have PTSD, but it's not from looking at a website. It is from things that happened in reality.
