Is it a rich area in Oahu? Good neighborhood? Does it flood there often?

Thank you for the answers so far.

Is Alewa Heights a safe neighborhood? I'm just concern since it's so close to the city and I know the areas near town can be patchy and dirty.

The Alewa Heights is a neighborhood on the mountain between Nuuanu and Kalihi Valleys overlooking Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu. Many homes here enjoy excellent ocean views and city lights. It is close to town without being in town. Alewa Heights enjoys a rich history and is home to Natsunoya Tea House, the last remaining full-time tea house.
The area rarely floods but there have been power outages and one road closure during the rainy season. This is a desirable area to live in and homes range in price from the $700,000's to Multi-million dollar older estates on estate sized lots. This is a very good neighborhood.

Alewa Heights is a middle class neighborhood that isn't inherently bad. It doesn't flood there too often but then any neighborhood is prone to flooding here in Hawaii (since most neighborhoods are built on hillsides and water MUST flow down).

Hope that helps........
