I really hope that there was a typo when you said "7.62x35".

The SKS and 7.62x39 go hand in glove. Sometimes the stamping on them is rough and little hard to read. I have never heard of a 7.62x35 round; it would have to a one of a kind wildcat if it did exist. If it was altered to a different caliber the original marking may have been XXXX'd out and new one stamped on. Why don't you find somebody who has cut their teeth on an SKS and have him/her take it apart and check it out for you. The only thing to really remember about an SKS is that when putting the spring back into the bolt body put the curly que end in; the straight end goes to the rear. Other than that they are as simple as simple can be.

I can assure you that your rifle shoots 7.62 X 39 caliber ammunition. You need to check your information, because there is no such rifle round as a 7.62 X 35 caliber. The 7.62 X 39 is the "standard" round for ALL SKS military rifles be they Chinese, Russian, East German or Yugoslavian manufacture.

It's not 7.62x35. It's 7.62x39. It's EVERYWHERE and should be fairly inexpensive to buy.

The proper load should be engraved on the reciever.
If you think it's been re-chambered for some reason, have a gunsmith look at it before you fire it.
