Or should you search for yourself?

No, I believe that God searches for us, He knows who will surrender to Him and who will not. I was raised catholic and I resented, the way they went about doing these religious things, even as a young child, I disagreed in my spirit with it. That was part of the reason, why I turned my back completely to God for a long time. But He never gave up on me.
In 1995 I was saved and a few years later filled with the Holy Spirit and I am glad , that God had mercy on me.

It depends on your age.
If you are over twelve, I would feel you have a right to look into this whole area of belief and service to God.
If your parents belief feels different to yours, talk to them and ask then to explain your questions.
Ask them how they would feel if you went to a different church.
Tell them the reasons why.
They may come with you.
Keep them in-the-loop with how you are feeling.

If you are much older like 18 years old.
You could still inform them as above.
Do some research about what different faiths are about.

Happy seeking.

Whatever "church" you go to, whatever "religion" you follow, whatever is your "belief" - God is God.
And the answer is not in the seeking.

God is always already in the Heart.
Come to the Heart.

Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but through me.

If you search for me with all your heart, you will find me says God. Jeremiah 29 v 13

Search for yourself.

Always search for yourself. What you believe is a deeply personal decision. That's not to say you should deliberately turn away from your parents' faith, but be sure that what you profess is really what *you* believe.

You should definitely search for yourself! Maybe your parents are wrong.

No each of us needs to come to believe on our own and not just because our parents told us too, however it is a good beginning place...
