Many people, even churchgoers, don't have a clue in terms of the cross of Jesus. Mel Gibson's movie focused too much on the physical sufferings of Jesus but disregarded the Lord's TRUE MEANING for allowing His own death. He paid a price that could not be paid by any other means. Jesus came down from heaven in the form of a man to die on the cross as PROPHESIED in the Old Testament.

You are correct, Mels movie did focus to much on Jesus's physical pain. The real suffering was his separation from God and his decent into hell. Many men have had horrible deaths, but Jesus dying on the cross was the ultimate spiritual suffering. and the only way to pay for our sins.

Jesus didn't die on the cross, people think that the bible is a written historical account, the truth of the matter is the bible was a collections of prophecies, the man refered to as Jesus, is a catalist for Armageddon. and actually plays a role that helps destroy the catholic strong hold on the spirit world.... they are the ones collecting prophecy... they also do a lot of damage to the natural spirit and societies that evolve through nature... the stories about the crusifixion, is what the spirit of the church would do to the man if they caught up with him... I know they failed because a few years back (it even hit the news, that's just an example of how powerful spiritual influence can be) We heard that Jesus didn't die on the cross but married Mary Magdelaine.... and they had children... which is a corrected prophecy... I haven't read the catholic version of the bible... but I bet it had the roman plans to conquer.... if this Jesus story is a sample of how the catholics used prophecy... it would be interesting to compare the bible with actual roman (catholic) conquest.

You are some what right. But both you and Gibson miss the main point.

It is wonderful and I thank the Lord every day that Jesus took my sins and the sins of all mankind onto the cross. But his death would have no meaning if He did not rise. The salvation of a Christian is in the Resurrection.

A dead Jesus, even one who died for all our sins, is still a defeated Jesus, defeated by the weight of our sins. It is in the Resurrection that He gives us victory of sin and death.

Thank you Lord for dieing for us. And praise You Lord for rising for Us.

That is why we Christians are people of Summer. Our fall has happened, our winter is long, on the Cross Christ gave us the hope of Spring and in His Glorious Resurrection He brought forth the bountiful joy of Summer.

Personally I thought Mel Gibson did an outstanding job of reminding us how much suffering Jesus was willing to withstand, even to His death on the cross, for all sinners.

Yeah, and whenever I sin, God demands that I nail a kitten to the back fence in repentence.

The whole "divine sacrifice" thing is about the stupidest idea mankind has come up with. It makes no sense whatsoever.

You know... there were prophecies in the Harry Potter books that were fulfilled in later Harry Potter books...
Does that make THOSE true, too?

It was a great movie. I think you put too much stock in mythology, however.
