For example, Al Shaitan and Cheese and Rice.... they always give the best answers each other, and other than them, anti Mormons only interact within themselves, no1 else outside of thir circle. Some of them worship themselves and others... I don't know, but would you consider this a cult? hehehe
We (mormons) are accused by these people of being a cult and thare is a quote in spanish that says this: "El ladron juzga por si condicion" which means "The thief judges by its condition" that means that some people accuse others of doing something that they (the accuser) does... I hope you get it, i don't know very well how to explain it.

Cricket has got it right... My hubby said anthropologists define a "cult" as a group of people (bound together by common philosophy) who have branched off from another religion. There are very few religions that do not have their roots in another. Therefore....
...all/most religions are cults.

All the ignorant people that keep calling us a cult don't know what the heck they are talking about. They know NOTHING about our Church.
I wish they would just quit with the cult junk. It is very offensive. WE ARE NOT A CULT!!!

Seriously I do not consider them a cult. They are free thinkers who disagree with you and me on religion. They don't consider us free thinkers but that is just them being blind and not a cult (you can only be a free thinker if you agree with me -- other wise you don't think for yourself -- choosing to follow a prophet and or scriptures and or God means you don't think for yourself in their minds -- but I digress)
I have received best answers from both Al and Cheese so that argument is not valid either.

Well, we hardly ever see each other outside, and we don't have a strict code of obedience, and we don't make a lot of cash contributions to each other, and altho personable, neither one is really very charismatic. If this is a cult, it's not a very well organized one.
Have you noticed the reciprocal responses issued from lds to lds? ¿Es el pote que llama la caldera *****? (it's been a loooong time since Espanol 1).

It is in the original book of Mormon that the reason black people are dark-skinned is because God left them in the oven too long. It is also a practice that some of the Mormons wear "magic underwear". They used to approve of polygamy and some still practice it, even though officially the church disapproves. The church of LDS also baptizes people in the church even AFTER they are dead, no matter what religion they might be, which many other religious followers (i.e., Jews, for one) find extremely offensive. The reason that many people think that Mormonism is a cult is because of this - it has practices that are decidedly cult-like. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... it probably is.

Actually I don't have anyone that I have to report to, take orders from, give money too, or do unpaid volunteer work for.. so I'm pretty sure I'm not part of a cult.
I've also never had anybody threaten to slit my throat down to my stomach if I told the 'secrets'.. Yeah, pretty much not a cult.

I think my answers are so out there, that even some of the anti-mormons don't like me. You know they accuse you mormons of having persecution mania, well I have a double dose of it, LOL. Even the anti-mormons think I am out in left field somewhere. Even my brother was a mormon, hes atheist now, I would think we could be close now that we are both out of the mormon church and yet we are not, he didn't even tell me he left the church, I had to find out thru my mormon dad. whats up with that. He didn't even tell me when I asked his som when he was going to get babtized (in the mormon faith), even my mentally ill brother told me he got saved, I don't know about my atheist brother, its not liek I wasn't atheist at one time and would understand.
