Hello....God created Lucifer - The Morning Star. He was the angel that took all the praises from the other angels meant for God and forwarded the praises onto God in a beautiful display and song. It was when Lucifer desired the praises for himself that got him into trouble. When he but thought about raising a thrown higher than that of God's to receive the praises and attain the power of God, God immediately kicked him out of heaven. As he exited, Jesus is accounted as saying that he saw Satan descend from heaven like a bolt of lightning. Therefore, God did not create Satan, Lucifer turned into Satan when He desired to attain something that was meant for God alone. That's really the first sin coveteousness, which is the very thought to steal or own something that belongs to someone else. Lucifer now Satan made a choice that forever seals his fate much like many people do here on earth.

Because He knew in the end it would be for His own glory. I don't know how, either, but it will. Go knows everything, He created time, and isn't constrained by that one bit. Everything goes according to His plan, every time, even if it doesn't seem like it is. God knew exactly what would happen, Satan didn't suprise God. NOTHING surprises God.

God did not create Satan but created the angel Lucifer. When this angel exercised his free agency to disobey God (the same agency we have) he fell and was cast out and sent to hell becoming miserable. Satan then desires the same misery for all mankind and seeks to cause their fall. OTOH God seeks to save us and through the atonement of Christ redeem us from the fall. The question is, do we exercise our free will to choose misery or happiness? Which side do we listen to?

There is no such thing as a time machine so that he knows.
When you give someone free will they can choose to do bad with it.
God choose Saul to lead the nation of Isreal and he sinned and was later removed from God's favor.
He chose Solomon who later he said he hated because his foreign wives caused him to sin in false worship.
Jesus did not pick Judas to be an apostle knowing he would betray him.
time only moves one way and God makes prophecys and is in a position to make it turn out that way.
But we are not predestined. We are given free will just as Satan was. He wanted power and to be worshiped who could have seen that coming? He had a spirit body not a flesh and blood body like a man has. But he wanted to live with human women in a sexual relationship. Which angels are not designed to do. It was preversion.
Similar to homosexuals. How could God know ahead of time that is what they would do with their sex organs?

short and to the point:

God created many angels. One of these angels, turned himself into Satan by making choices, because just like us angels also have free will.

So God did not create Satan.

IF YOU understand FREE WILL you will understand God, and furthermore why he let the story be written about Satan. can you imagine being in the presence of God who knows everything and can do everything and still be selfish. Its like being beside Donald Trump and then behind hes back tell everybody he does know what he is doing and you are the new real estate icon.

He honestly didn't know, Satan was an angel, unlike humans, and he fell from God. He turned away from Him and thought he could do God's job better, and tried to take it over. God punished him by sending him to Hell. God honestly did not know it would turn out that way, as hard as it is to understand.

edit: guess I have thumbs down for my beliefs. God did make free will to go hand in hand with predestination, as hard as it is for humans to understand, there is no way we can perceive these kinds of ideas, as we are not God, or anything close. God is here to help us come back to him and see that not all things are bad, the world can be beautiful. Heaven is even more beautiful.
Just keep believing.

there are many biblically illiterate people on this planet. only to make things more confusing.

It doesn't matter cause if it wasn't Lucifer it would have been someone else. And God gave man the choice to follow him or not. Humans needed to choose if they were going to follow God or not. Because if they didn't choose it wouldn't prove they love him because God would have been the only choice. But God gave a way out and his name is Jesus.Satan was a child of God but decided to rebel. And if you still disagree then why don't you just say I'm not going to have children one day because I know that they'll lie to me rebel against me disobey me and give me a hard time.

Without Satan man would not have free will to decide his/her fate. God created Satan because if he never there would be no freedom. That doesn't mean Satan is good it just means God made a very tough decision, which i think all agree, he made the right one. Freedom with evil is better than slavery with no evil.

Btw 1337 legend, god created the angels, therefore God did create satan
